DM #protip Roll for everything Show more
Roll for everything,
roll the race of NPCs,
roll the color of the trees,
roll the tavern menu,
roll the brawl,
also roll that elven gal.
For life is also made of rolls
of dice unseen
and stats untold.
And if you roll your world too,
it will be made of chance,
just like you.

@pxi I think at the very end – which in my case are classic D&D campaigns around levels 8–10 – people tend to avoid combat and it’s all politics and talking. That means I can run a game without rolling any dice at the table. And it turns out that I don’t enjoy that as much. The dice are there to surprise us all. They make the story turn in unexpected directions for all of us. I don’t know whether « not story » means « game » but something changes for sure.
