I really like the favorite/boost/bookmark distinctions. I also like the fact that here you have to go back to the original post to talk--my brain says lovechild of Twitter and Pillowfort. Also, accountability, woohoo!
So. In my view.
Favorite: HEY YOU this was a COOL THING.
Boost: HEY EVERYONE this was a COOL THING.
Bookmark: HEY ME don't forget about this COOL THING.
Reply: OMG WHAT A COOL THING can we TALK about it?
I believe the #ttrpg community relies too much on PDFs. It is cheaper (free), easier, and more accessible (to both creators and users) to produce games in other formats like HTML/CSS.
Alright, today's the day ya'll are gonna learn how to make proper Chai! (no not Chai tea latte bullshit. Ya'll are literally asking for tea tea latte, doesn't make sense!)
Listen up! (this will be in multiple parts in comments due to character limit)
1. Fill your cooking pot 1.5 parts (measured by the cup you're serving in) of water.
2. Add a healthy pinch of grated ginger.
Today I take a look at a catch-all slur from Amazon's CARNIVAL ROW. You can read my review at the link below.
Trying to avoid falling back into the old 🐤 trap of just boosting and never posting original things. So here’s a peek at a couple things from the painting bench. Plague doctors from Reaper minis inspired by Dana Howl’s synthwave stuff from a while back. #miniatures #minipainting #reaperminiatures #ttrpg
This past week on Gnome Stew's Gnomecast, several of us recorded some stories of GM Burnout, and how we resolved the situation.
The thing about Twitter is that it really lacks a lot of the features you'd expect from a true Mastodon replacement.
For example, there's no way to edit your toots (which they, confusingly call "tweets"—let's face it, it's a bit of a silly name that's difficult to take seriously).
"Tweets" can't be covered by a content warning. There's no way to let the poster know you like their tweet without also sharing it, and no bookmark feature.
There's no way to set up your own instance, and you're basically stuck on a single instance of Twitter. That means there's no community moderators you can reach out to to quickly resolve issues. Also, you can't de-federate instances with a lot of problematic content.
It also doesn't Integrate with other fediverse platforms, and I couldn't find the option to turn the ads off.
Really, Twitter has made a good start, but it will need to add a lot of additional features before it gets to the point where it becomes a true Mastodon replacement for most users.
MAN GOES TO DOCTOR, SAYS "I AM SAD, WOMAN DUMPED ME. WORK, MONEY, NOTHING BRINGS ME JOY.
DOCTOR SAYS: "CURE IS SIMPLE. MAKE A TWITTER ACCOUNT, PAY EIGHT BUCKS FOR VERIFICATION AND IMPERSONATE ELON MUSK FOR LULZ"

A summary list:
1. Be brief as possible.
2. Do not repeat information.
3. Choose to describe what is most important.
4. Do not use it to circumvent the system.
It's been in the planning for half a year, and we've been building out the space for a solid 12 weeks.
I designed, created, and installed exterior signage last week. This week we're moving in the furniture Jen sourced for half a year, fabricating signs for the 30' tall windows, finishing the maker space, and getting games and ttrpg books onto shelves.
I haven't posted here in a bit. I've been opening a ttrpg gaming space with my ridiculously adorable partner in life and crime, @firstname.lastname@example.org.
It's been a blast. I'll post some photos of the art deco, brass and marble bank from the '20s we've been renovating, and the '80s themed design work associated.
It's a good time to start posting more, and a good time to check out what's going on here again.
