Zak S. writes about detractors. He quotes Toni Morrison talking about racism and how it's just greed and what to do about it; and he quotes George Saunders talking about noise drowning the signal, and what to do about it. It boils down to that: don't focus on the stuff that's abundantly clear to everybody. Keep doing the good stuff instead. http://dndwithpornstars.blogspot.com/2018/06/relevant-retropost-distracted-from.html
@kensanata Interesting post. Thanks for sharing it. Definitely a great reminder about how exhausting and time-consuming defending our own humanity/intelligence/worth can be when that process really doesn't do much good. I hadn't even thought about how it would affect gaming and game design.
@cheri Yeah. I had never considered this angle before. In all the gaming posts on Zak's site there are some great posts on the intersection between art, games, and politics. I'll have to see whether I can dig up another one. I remember something about Nazis and art criticism, for example.
