When running a travel game (space, sea, explorers) the standard format is to have the party in a new location every adventure. This can lead to creativity burn-out. Consider using the travel theme to have mini-campaigns of 3-6 sessions per location.

This not only helps prevent "new planet generation" burn-out, but can allow PCs to play tourist and create relationships/hooks to return.

The first few hundred episodes of One Piece are a FANTASTIC example of this.
