Jahrhunderts? Hier entlang: gespiele.hypotheses.org/1183

...and special thanks to @DrKarrSchmidt without I probably would not have come across this image. 🙂

Today is World Dice Day! Here's an image of three dice that just take too long to stop rolling. 😉

The comic "Squire" by Sara Alfageeh and Nadia Shammas is wonderful. Entertaining, emotional, intelligent. A girl with a sword. An empire preparing for war. Struggles, trust, and treason. @comics

re: game about cooking and connecting with your family's cultural background

I like how the game navigates Polly's distance to her Chinese heritage, and her interest in connecting to it (and to her mom and her girlfriend).
The game's visuals are simple but work very well. Nice color scheme, light background music. 湯圓 [tong jyun] can be played in about 30 minutes.

re: game about cooking and connecting with your family's cultural background

Unlike the protagonist I don't a family background with moving to a different culture. The game was relatable, calm and entertaining. You click through the chat messages with your mom, your girlfriend, and your family, and switch to cooking phases in which you prepare the rice balls.

game about cooking and connecting with your family's cultural background

I just played 湯圓 [tong jyun] by npckc, which I got from the douZINE bundle, a handful of Japanese indie games.

湯圓 [tong jyun] is a beautiful little chat game in which you play Polly, a Chinese American chatting with her mom to teach her how to cook tong jyun.

I watched Fast Color, a 2018 movie directed by Julia Hart, and really liked it. Interesting mix of (inter-)personal drama and supernatural powers in a desolate landscape. Intense without needing to rush. Small, excellent cast, great performances by Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Lorraine Toussaint in particular.
