Pinned toot

Hihi. I'm Noneuclidery, they/them.

I'm here because tabletop games are in my DNA to the point where I joined the very same ttrpg that my parents met at.

These days I mostly play pbta, and just starting to explore fitd, but I'm down to play boardgames, too.

I'm also autistic and confused about how to be human. :P

The impression I'm getting from the cyberpunk 2077 videogame is that the cyberpunk ttrpg it's based on is probably not very punk. :<

Just in case I get seen by any tooters who happen to be photosensitive, you'll want to be careful around Cyberpunk 2077 if you do play or watch it, because sections of it seem to have been designed to mimic the methods doctors use to trigger seizures and... yeah, the bog standard warning most games include may not quite cover that level of shitfuckery:

This "one-shot" of Girl By Moonlight went for three sessions totalling 13 hours, and I am a heckin' exhausted MC. I have learned that forged in the dark games do not do one-shots very well, least of all this one.

Very fun, though. :3

From @4CH1LLE5@birdsite:

So the Japanese Government is holding a hearing on matters concerning same-sex marriage, which is still illegal there. It's being livestreamed and they're "gauging interest" based on how many people watch it. HOWEVER the stream is "coincedentially" held at a time when most people in Japan will be at work and unable to watch it. It starts in 2 hours, here's a link. Please be there and spread the word if you can. Use a VPN. youtube.com/watch?v=LQp5trJVIJ

Playing AI Dungeon for the first time, and the erasure is real.

You make attack plans with your friend.

*Excuse me!*

(I tagged it as "Gender in games" rather than "sex in games" because I didn't want to imply the *other* meaning of sex.😅)

Gender in ttrpgs

On a ttrpg design thread, this guy is talking about how it's more realistic in games like DnD to have "males and females start with different base stats".

While he's wrong and was kind of a jerk about it, it made me realise that, even if it *were* more realistic for the average person, the heroes are *not* average people, and thus such concepts get tossed out the window.

There's interesting stuff you can do with it, but "because realism" makes even less sense than I thought.

I've played Ironsworn co-op before, but first time playing it (or any game) solo, and heck, it's a lot harder to make sense of what's happening without someone to bounce ideas off of.

That said, having a lot of fun with my poor, traumatised, tsundere ironlander, Yuda. :3

TTRPG shenanigans

My players don't track their money. Instead, they send the kobold PC away, and he comes back a few hours later with whatever cash they need. I make him roll to see what it costs him to have found the money, but there's an unwritten rule that we *never* find out what actually happens in any of these excursions. The clues they *do* get always create more questions than answers.

Last time, he lost his explosives and some dragon snacks. Explosion heard, but no damage found.

Aww, why are all the ttrpg kickstarters I want coming out now? I have no money!
